Drastically improving customer service through AI-powered direct messaging

To founders Lars Selsås, Hadle Selsås and Henry Iversen it was evident that customer service could drastically improve by implementing conversational AI technology – thus in 2016, they founded boost.ai.

“Why would anyone settle for waiting when technology makes it possible to automate even the most complex demands in a matter of seconds?” they asked themselves.

Sparebank 1 SR-Bank quickly concluded that the founders of boost.ai had the skills to develop the technology, and more importantly, the drive and passion to make it a success. To challenge them, SR-Bank asked them to develop a conversational AI chatbot that would outperform all current competitors. Within a few months, the virtual agent they developed was able to answer customer questions and even provide loan commitments for SR-Bank’s clients. This remarkable achievement convinced SR-Bank to sign a contract, invest through a seeding fund and purchase an equity share in boost.ai.

After the success with SR-Bank, conversational AI turned out to be a big hit for boost.ai and companies lined up to transform their businesses with the technology they had developed. Within 12 months the three dedicated entrepreneurs had managed to transform their idea into a successful company with 40 employees, as well as signing more banks to their client list, making boost.ai the market leader responsible for the digitization of several industries.

The goal is to conquer the global market and to become the first Norwegian unicorn

In February 2018, a new funding round was done by a Norwegian venture capital firm, making boost.ai ready for its next phase. By 2019, boost.ai has an office in Los Angeles, and more than 100 organizations around the world have deployed virtual agents with boost.ai’s technology – drastically improving their online customer experience.
